Interior of Smith Bakery Store, Rawlins. Update - May 2010: Black & white print. Snapshot mounted on matboard. Image of the interior of a store. Counters on either side with glass display cases full of baked goods. Door at center back appears to lead to living quarters. Four women & two children posed in front of door between counters - one child standing on counter at left; he is holding a ball & a narrow stick or a balloon on a stick. Pictures, calendar, phone & shelves on back wall. Small patterned rectangular grate at center of floor. Written on emulsion surface: [pencil & blue ink] [center bottom] "Interior Smith Baker" [people L to R} [pencil] "Warf[?]" "Mrs. Findisen" "Madge Smith" "Christine Bennett" "Freddy Jr" " Maggie Smith" Written on back in black ink: "1-AD" "Interior of Bill (Baker) Smith's Bakery on Front Street. In the picture are the three daughters of Mr. Smith. At the left is Mame Smith (Mrs. Findisen) with her small son. Next is Madge (Mrs. John Bangs[)], next is Christine Bennett with Freddie Findisen in front of her. Last is Maggie (Mrs. Dixon). Mrs. Dixon was the mother of the late Jamie Rochelle of Rawlins" "Copied by State" "mounted" "195". Cut down from original size - edges rough & uneven; original writing cut off. Vertical crease through center of mat & image - emulsion cracked. Piece missing from lower left edge, torn & cracked in lower left corner. Writing on emulsion; scratched & dented; fingerprints on emulsion. Update February 2011: Black & white glossy copy print. Typed on adhesive tag on back: "Interior of Bill (Baker) Smith's Bakery on Front Street. In the picture are the three daughters of Mr. Smith.
