6/2010 Mystery Photo information: The photograph was of the "Third Annual Fish Fry, Sept. 21, '10, of 3,920 Trout Saratoga, Wyo." as written on the front of the photo from the negative process. A handwritten note on the back of Dick Peru's (Saratoga) copy identified the men from left to right: Gene Freeming, Bert Reynolds, John "Whitey" Miller, Ear Jugg, (?) Peckham, Sam Moore, Ed Haggarty, Duke Hanley, Clyde Lashbrook, Platt Hinman, Wilbur Hugus, Frank Gramer, Dave Wilcox, and Charles Taylor. According to Mr. Perue the fish fry was a promotion given by Saratoga and Encampment Railroad to celebrate Railroad Days and promote the railroad and the Saratoga/Encampment Valley. Haggarty started the copper boom in Grand Encampment mining district; Wilcox ran the livery stable, Taylor was the town marshal, Hugus was one of the town founders, postmaster and builder of what is now Shively Hardware; and Moore was associated with Sisson (Wolf) Hotel.
Update - June 2010: Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of 14 men standing behind a very long table or series of tables laden with fish. Buckets & a large tub under the table at center; double blade ax on ground near center. Pit in ground at right background right; wagon & horses in background center behind a stove on which one of the men is seated. Shack in background left. Man at right is wearing a badge. Trees & bushes in far background.

Written in pencil on white adhesive label pasted to back: "Saratoga"
Yellowed adhesive residue in upper left corner on back; back slightly soiled. Upper right corner (from front) missing; damage to other corners. Emulsion cracked in upper & lower left; scratched & badly dented; soiled in upper right. Ink on emulsion - numbers written above the head of each man in blue ink (no corresponding IDs).
Update July 2011: Original Print on 2 toned grey mat. Engraved in lower right corner: "Passmore Portraits & Views"
Written on back in pencil: "A. McMicken"
Good condition. Mat soiled, edges of print creased & marred, rubbed on right side.
