Description

Unknown lady by A. A. Brown, Photographer. Update 2008: Black and white print. Photo of a young African American lady in a two piece long dark skirt and light colored blouse. Skirt has waist band at waist. Blouse has long sleeves that puff at the shoulders. Blouse has a dark tight round collar at the neck. Lady has her right hand on a wicker stand which has laid over it the jacket to match the lady's skirt. An umbrella is leaning up against the stand an jacket . The lady has her hair pulled back in a bun style. There is a full length divider to the left of the lady which has a plant setting in the opening. The plant is draped around the divider up over the top and back down other side almost to the floor. Photo is mounted on white mat board. All four corners are missing. Medium stain on left corner and lower right corners. Emulsion is scratched. Lower right corner on back heavily stained. "A.A. Brown" is printed in left lower corner. "Photographer, Rawlins, Wyo." in the lower right corner. Written on back in black ink "received of Mr. Turner 3.00 dollars-line-received of Tod $2.50, "" Hazel 1.00 for eggs-line-.50 for eggs-line- Cal Lemon borrowed from Mrs. Frank Brown" Other marks and cross outs are also on back.
