One of sixty-eight scanned photos. Photo of Louise Jones and Florence (Georgina) Littlefield (young woman) standing in front of car at Whiskey Gap between Rawlins and Casper. Young man in white shirt standing on left.Georgina Florence Littlefield was a long term guest in the Ferris Hotel and had been since the 1920 census. She was a 24 year old widow whose husband had most likely died in WW I.
Whiskey Gap: A historic pass used to move the "Overland" Stage Co. South from the Oregon Trail in 1862 to what became The Overland Trail. At the time of these photos "the Gap" was roughly 40 miles North of Rawlins and was accessed by a partially graded road. The 80 mile round trip from Rawlins and back should have been quite an outing for the young women and their male companion. He also go to go fishing. See photo 23.Collection
