One of sixty-eight scanned photos. Photo of three women and a man standing in front of Ferris Hotel. Man in center with women standing behind. Woman on left in hat and coat and woman on right with white blouse and a dark skirt. "Friends of Louise Jones in front of the Ferris Hotel Fountain Room." As to the Fountain Room its construction was announced by Hotel Manager Geo. Stephenson on July 24, 1919. Because of the 18th Amendment the Hotel Bar had become redundant and the Pool Room unprofitable. The wall between them was removed and the two rooms made into a model Ice Cream Parlor which used Bauer's Confectionary Products shipped in fresh daily from Denver. The Fountain Room opened in early November 1919 and closed by Stephenson on November 16, 1922. He then turned the room into a "high class" lunch room which opened for business on Saturday July 18, 1923.Collection
