Description

A large family Bible that belonged to Sam Joynson, Uncle of Mrs. Jacob Waeckerlin and was brought by him from England. He lived in Rawlins in the early days and worked in the UP Machine Shop. Brought to the museum by F. F. Kraft. Update 03/08/2008 -Mr. Kraft was from the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and was an uncle of Jacob. The Bible has four gold metal corner tabs, has ornate hinge on the lower right of Bible cover. 3 1/2" thick. Has copies of colored paintings of Bible scenes. After 1822 no family pages are filled in.
