Photo of Louis Cassinat shoeing a horse. Update 2009: Black and white snapshot of a man shoeing a horse. Man is in a partial squat with his back toward the horse. With his left hand he is holding up the left rear foot of the horse and right hand holds long handled pliers. He appears to be removing the horseshoe. On the ground is a wood box with hammer handle sticking out . There is a file laying on the ground to the side of wood box. The horse is light colored with darker markings on the hind quarters and legs. The horse has on a halter with rope looped around pole fence that is behind man and horse. It is a two pole fence with two upright posts. One of the posts has an inverted bucket on the top. There is another dark horse in right of photo. Only hind quarters and back legs visible. Man is wearing dark colored cowboy hat, light colored shirt, bib overalls, and chaps. he has on glasses. Written in blue ink on back: "Stranberg Bros. Sheep Co. Little Savory [sic Savery] Hdqtrs July 1922" "Louis Cassinat shoeing the horse". Written in blue ink on back bottom: "Given to museum by Louis Cassinat." Condition is good. Crease right side, writing on reverse made visible. Crease marks on front.
