Description

Shoeing a horse at Standberg Sheep Company, Savery. Update 2009: Black and white snapshot of man holding rope on horses right back leg, horses' leg is held up high. Very gaunt looking horse with two ropes tied around his neck. Two other men are holding the ropes around his neck. Man holding up horses' leg is in a front leaning position with outstretched arm. He is wearing dark trousers and shirt, chaps and a Tam hat and wears glasses. One of the men holding the neck rope has on bib overalls and a light shirt and cowboy hat. Only the arm of the other man is visible. There is a log structure behind the horse. Written on back in blue ink: "It looks as if this horse could stand something to eat" "Stranberg Sheep Outfit Little Savory[sic Savery] Hdqtrs June 1922" "Louis Cassinat shoeing or getting ready to shoe this horse". "Picture given by Louis Cassinat". Good condition. Creased. Emulsion cracked. Writing on back made visible crease marks on front.
