Small rock, identified as a gizzard stone found at Como Bluff near Medicine Bow, WY. Cubic but with no hard edges, largely light tan and orange, approximately 1.75" diameter. Very smooth to the touch but not polished.
A gizzard stone is a stone thought to have been swallowed by a dinosaur to aid in digestion by helping to pulverize plant material in the stomach. They are identified largely by their physical proximity to other fossil remains, i.e. found in or around the bones of a herbivorous dinosaur.Collection
