Description

Black and white photo of West Pine St, the north side of the E 1/2 500 block, the 400 block, 300 block and W end of the 200 block. 10" x 8" for advertising purposes. Pictured are the Masonic Temple, Old Court House, Central School, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Taken 1917 by Hugh Rogner. Update - 2009: Black & white print and one copy. Image of buildings on the 500 block of pine street. On photo left foreground is a stone multi-level building. There is a widows walk on top of roof. There are two brick chimneys alike & another taller one with support wire from roof to chimney. There are six sets of double windows on first & second levels, & there sets on basement level. Under edge of roof are decorative markings. A spire extends from a raised ornamental sign on east side. Large trees are on the west side & smaller trees in a row are on the south side. A decorative fence is in front of trees on west side. The building is surrounded by lawn & a sidewalk. The next building east is also multi level with a widows walk & spire. The front portion extends out from building, has arch windows & rock walls on sides of steps with two lamp posts on top. Next building east is multi level with a turret on front. Next building east has a steep roof. Young trees are planted in front of second & third buildings. A dirt street on photo right is in front to the south. On the south side of street on photo right is a line of poles & street lights. There are two horses that appear to be hitched to a wagon. Houses with wood fences & bushes are behind a dirt sidewalk. A lot of clouds are in the sky. Written on back in blue ink: "Rawlins, WY" In pencil: "1917 Hugh Ragner Photographer Masonic Temple, Old Court House, Central School, St. Joseph's Catholic Church" Condition: Good.
