Photo of the gallows at the Old Pen
Update - June 2010: Black & white glossy contact print. Two views. Image shows a short wooden table-like structure with three wooden steps leading to table platform surface. Rising from rear of platform next to the wall is a long 2" x 4". At the top of the 2 x 4 in the ceiling is a large framed open square with swinging doors extended open. A small wooden object is at center of platform with a gas? jet & hose extending off to table right. A wooden contraption is at side. A wooden contraption is at side right with a large bucket cylinder at side left center & a weighted thin rope pulley at side right. Room is a small anteroom with concrete floor & walls. Lower right corner in tiny white print form negative process: eyers Rawlins, Wyo.

Good condition Wear on corners & edges. Soiling on back side along outer edges. Emulsion is slight, cracked, indented & scratched at various locations.
View 2. Identical to above except the small ceiling doors are closed & propped shut with a tall wooden 2 x 4 rising from the platform. Thin ropes are extended under he closed doors to left & right along ceiling edge. Another thin rope extends from mid level of 2 x 4 to pulley device at right side.
