Update 2008: Black and white print attached to yellowed matboard, 2 1/2 x 4 1/8, of a seated woman with her right forearm and elbow propped on chair arm that has fringe hanging down. She has long dark curly hair that is pulled back with long ringlets hanging down her back. She is wearing a long black skirt and matching long sleeved high necked collar with white lace at top neck edge. She has a thin rope type necklace that is looped at mid bodice an hangs down to waist. The bottom edges of center blouse sides form a V at center front. Her left arm is resting in her lap.
Condition: Fair. There are tiny drops of yellow residue on bottom of photo and mat. Slight soiling, fingerprints, and other smudges over entire photo surface. A horizontal bend in print and mat has created a white line across photo surface and a bend crease on mat back at lower center of print. At top center a tiny tear on right side created a white line from cracked emulsion and tear in paper. Slight abraded surface on top left with second layer of mat exposed.

Written in pencil on tiny white label on back: Carbon.
Back of card has a reddish stamped UPRR Photograph railroad car. Right side of car has printed on it: J.B. Silvis, Photographer. Written on left of car stereoscopic landscape view of notable prints on line of Pacific R.R. on back lower center is a 3/8 in diameter red ink circular crest with initial. A flag is on roof of car at left end.
5 x 7 copy, black and white reprint of original. Print has soiling and discolored line top to bottom on photo back, dark shading around photo edges. Slight tiny cracks in emulsion at photo bottom half. Writing on back shows through at top edge. Flaws from original show in copy, white lines from cracks and tears.
