Building at smelter for Ferris Haggarty Mine.
Update - 2009: Black & white print of a two story metal building with windows from which a long narrow elevated metal building emanates on side right. This structure is supported by tall triangular crossbeams. A triangular crossbeam elevated railtrack is at side left with ending point at metal building roof edge. There is a man tipping an ore cart at this juncture. Charred black timbers with large nails in them is viewed at side left foreground. Other debris is strewn about. A dirt road bed is at center foreground. Many wires crisscross throughout upper area of image.
Written in blue ink: "Building at smelter ore dumped into building prior to smelting."
Good condition though print is heavily soiled front & back with yellowing at side left & dark smudge marks on all edges at intervals. Top & bottom edges are curling. There is a dark area along top of print. A small orange stain is seen at top center left. Emulsion has several bubble type indentions & a scraped indention at top center with white haze showing. Top left has several wrinkles. There are other creases seen at various areas. a large orange circular stain is on surface back at top right. Backside is extremely smudged.
There are two copies of this print. 3 1/2 x 4 7/8", both good condition. Both copies are darker than original.
Copy 1 & 2 have white developing lines at side left.
Copy 1. Written on back in black ink: "Building at smelter ore dumped into building prior to smelting."
Copy 2 has no writing. There is tiny indention at top left on this copy.Collection
