Inside of smelter for Ferris Haggarty Mine.
Update - 2009: Black & white print of the interior of a large open building with large wheeled crucibles leaning against a large metal unit of equipment whose design resembles the pipes of a large pipe organ, with a horizontal pipe at the top of the vertical ones. A brick & mortar wall is behind the unit. A very large metal pipe is suspended from ceiling which extends left & right across upper print image. Sections of the pipe, its rivets & clamps are seen placed at intervals. Three large beams extend from floor to roof edge at spaced intervals. A large metal ore bucket with pouring spout is at side right. Several men are standing in different areas on side right in background. A man holding a long pole is at mid center side right. Unknown objects are strewn about in foreground & at far distance on right.
Written on back in blue ink: "Inside of smelter for Ferris Haggerty Mine ore at Encampment."
Fair condition. Print has yellow cast to it. There is a black vertical line on side right from developing process. Print has curling on left & right edges. There is extreme soiling on all edges & back surfaces, especially along back edges. There are several small tears at lower edge. Corners are bent. There is a horizontal crack in emulsion extending from margin left to margin right at lower section of image.
There are two copies of this print. both good condition. They are both lighter in color than original. Both are 3 1/2 x 4 7/8".
Copy 1 - has black developing from original & white border at top edge. Side right has slight dimpling.
Copy 2 - has written on back in black ink: Inside of smelter for Ferris Haggerty Mine ore at Encampment." Small fingerprint on emulsion side right.Collection
