A black and white print attached to a dark gray matboard which has been cut down and now has irregular margins. It has a small three black line border surrounding the print. The image is of the machine shop of Union Pacific Railroad in Rawlins,Wy. The large open workroom has a large beamed structured open ceiling. There are open bays with locomotives posititioned in two of them and possibly three. A large group of workmen are dressed in coveralls on side left by the engines. On side right standing between long, raised table like structures is a man wearing a three piece suit, a bowtie and a dark hat. Other equipment and metal structures are seen on the timbered floor as well as many small tubes? hanging on a high cross bar attached to two vertical beams. (The donor's grandfather Thomas E. Roberts was the foreman.)
Written on back in black ink: Grandpa Roberts-Foreman machine shop, Rawlins, WY 1900. Good condition though highly soiled on edges and image surface. Soiling consists of dark balck and brown small spots of unknown substance throughout the print. Print has scratches and scuffs throughout.Collection
