A 7 1/4" x 5" black and white print of the Union Pacific machine shop in Rawlins seen in the background with three rows of the workers seated and standing in a group view in forefront. (The first two rows are seated and the last row is standing). There is a single man standing at side right of image dressed in a dark three piece suit and a hat. A smoke stack is seen rising behind him. The workmen are all dressed in coveralls or overalls. The foreman, Thomas E. Roberts, is the donor's grandfather and is marked with a black x on print surface. Fair condition with blurry areas at side left and top right of image. There is a dark developing line side left. Photo is torn, cracked in several places, heavily soiled with smudges and unknown residue. Emulsion surface has eroded where torn and is white. Back surface has black paper? remnants as well as tape on side left. Corners are worn and edges have been cut down.Collection
