Assay Office at Ferris Haggarty Mine.
Update - 2009: Black & white print of the interior of a wooden built room with large curved pipe showing at below ceiling at image top. There is an "L" shaped work table built along the wall of the corner left of the room. There are a variety of objects on the table surface including papers, ledgers, various small scales, funnels, small air pump device, Bunsen burner?, apathecary type bottle, etc. A wide shelved unit is attached to far wall above work table. Many different size bottles are placed on these shelves with empty glass flask type bottles on the very top shelf. Two very long light cords extend from the ceiling & all secured by a hook over each work area. Large clear bottles with liquid in them are seen on a lower shelf under the work table. Various wooden stools and a chair are seen in front of the work area. A door is ajar to another room through which a window, desk & stool are barely visible. A white No. 66 is seen at lower right corner from negative.
Written on back in blue ink: Assay office at the smelter at Encampment. A white sticker at lower left corner has Ferris Haggarty Mine written in pencil.
Good condition with heavy soiling & wear on surface edges front & back. Soiling include smudge & fingerprints. Wear includes bent & worn corners. Back surface has glue? residue at top corner left edge & includes paper remnants with the fixative. There are few white spots & a small white line from negative process on print at top edges & lower right surface. there is slight wrinkling at top right corner.
There are two copies, both lighter in color than original. Both 3 1/2 x 4 3/4", and both good condition.
Copy 1 has "Assay office at Smelter at Encampment" written in black ink at back top edge.
Copy 2 has a large fingerprint on side right of emulsion.Collection
