Description

Ferris Haggarty Mine. Update - 2009: Black & white print affixed to a piece of torn & stained tan corrugated cardboard. Print shows a treed area in foreground, large multistory wooden building and tramway at center & a grassy hill with few evergreen in background. There are other smaller wooden structures at center area, and two sets of large ladder type stairs on outside wall to the top level of multistory structure. Written on back in black ink: "Ferris-Haggarty Mine Doc Culleton collection" Print is in poor condition with dissolution of top left corner, part of top and side right edges. Print is heavily soiled with residue of various types of brown & orange droppings on front surface & back cardboard area. There area large scuffed areas with white showing from lower surface of print on right side. Print is wrinkled at many areas throughout surface. Lower edge has been irregularly cut off. Back of cardboard is torn away at various locations & side left has large brown stain. There are two copies, both lighter in color than original. The defects from original are seen on copies. There is a long white streak on side left of both copies not seen on original. Both good condition. Copy 1 - Minor abraded spot on side right & small indentions on front all from writing on back surface. Written in black ink on back surface: Ferris Haggarty Mine. Stamped in black ink on back surface: Carbon County Museum, Box 52, Rawlins, WY 82301 Copy 2 has Ferris Haggarty written in pencil. There are small scratches at top right surface.
