A sepia toned photograph of early day Rawlins looking east taken by A. A. Brown, Photographer. Print measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" mounted on mat. Scene is taken from Monument Hill. View shows many covered wagons and an encampment site in the foreground (with a wall tent at center). Cedar Street view in center of picture and railroad yards to the right. Horses are attached to some wagons, and others are loose at side right. Central School and the Courthouse are seen side left in distance. Area was called Wagon Park. Book "100 years in the West" states the year of photo as 1892. Rans Baker dates it after 1886, but before July 1891.Collection
