Description

Billy Hildreth, who lived in a log cabin on Ferris Mountain for many years. Mrs. Countryman knew him from 1906. Update 2009: Black and white oval print attached to gray matboard, which has been cut down irregularly. The print shows an older bald headed man with a long chin beard and mustache which blends in with his beard. He wears a dark suit jacket with wide lapel and a small elk pin with BPOE on the lower edge of pin on his left lapel. He has very bushy eyebrows. Written on front of mat: "Billie Hildreth" in black ink. Written on back of mat: "Ol Billie lives in a cabin on Ferris Mts. 1906." There is a small white label on back with "Hildreth" written on it in pencil. Good condition. The mat edges are irregularly cut and edges are very jagged and rough looking. Back upper right of mat has piece of gray surface torn off and ivory colored interior of mat is exposed. Print has dimpling in few places. There is a long scuff over side right of photo. Few tiny stains in surface edges of print.
