Update - 2009. Black & white copy of Shrine parade. Men are lined up. They are wearing dark velvet looking jacket & matching skirts. They have white shirts with dark buttons, dark shoes, white leggings & gloves. They are carrying spears with a tassel of some kind on the end. They are wearing fez on their heads. In center background is a two story wood building. Painted on side is: "Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco" "Tom Keene Cigar" On front of building is: "General Blacksmith" To photo right is multilevel building with lots of windows & ornate edge under roof. To photo left is one level flat front facade building behind that a widows walk is seen rising above top of a building. This site now occupied by Elks Club. This photograph is of a Shrine parade in progress, but the building in center background is the two story wooden building of Henry Blickfieldts Blacksmith Shop located at 4th & Buffalo about 1903-1908. An interesting feature of this building was that there was a wagon shop on the second floor & there was an elevator in the building to take the wagons up there to be worked on. Left hand side of photo shows Ferris Photo Studio in background. Right hand side of photo shows the Ferris Hotel. The museum acquired this photo from the State Archives after Rans & Dan Kinnaman saw a copy hanging at Sanfords Restaurant.
Condition: Good. Crease top right.Collection
