Description

John and Nancy Wailes and Nancy's two brothers, Dave and Sinchhock (nickname) in front of their log ranch house at Green Mountain. Update 2009: Black and white print encased in a folded light black mat frame, whose left flap could fit in a notch in right flap to make an open standing display. Print shows a log house with a tall light pain window to right of door which is open. There is a man standing side left of print dressed in medium color pants, jacket and hat with bill. He is smoking a pipe and has his hands clasped behind his back. A young person is next to him and is wearing dark pants, dark shirt with white buttons and wears a light colored wide brimmed hat. A young man is standing to young person's left. He has his hands tucked in his pants pocket with his outer shirt open and ajar. He wears an inner shirt tucked into his trousers. A dark billed hat sets on his head. To his left is a woman dressed in long sleeved, long length dress which has lace decoration on each side of bodice front. Skirt portion of dress has some lace extending from waistband on two sides almost length of the skirt and then forms an angle an extends around the entire lower edge of skirt portion. Her medium color hair is in an updo. Grass is seen in the foreground. Mat is 21 inches long with both flaps are open. Front flap has embossed floral design in center. Information on back : John and Nancy Wailes and Nancy' s brothers Dave and Sinchhock Johnson. Taken 1910 Green Mt. Ranch house of John and Nancy Wailes. Dave Johnson married Ms. Rustin, Green Mts. 1915 or around then. He lived in his ranch in Jackson Wyo or near there. Nancy Wailes was a niece of Jessie Johnson, Dave and Sinchhock his nephews. Print is in fair condition with torn corners, large crack and crease through emulsion, other minor tears are seen. Print has photo tabs on two corners as though removed from an album. A piece of some type of cellophane is placed over the print inside the mat frame. Print has a mottled appearance to emulsion surface. outer mat flap has brown stain upper right corner. Spine and edges are worn.
