He is raised up on his left elbow; his right hand shielding his eyes from the sun. His hat and saddle are on the ground in foreground . His horse in standing aways away in the mid-ground. Mountains in the background.

Mounted on acidic matboard. Most of surface on back of mat gone. Front badly soiled. Image surface fingerprinted and scratched. Slight corner damage to mat. Dark stain on lower right corner of image.Collection
