Description

Interior of Jungquist Hardware, Rawlins between 1885-1890. Update - 2009: Sepia print. Interior of hardware store. Right wall lined with high shelves. Top shelf has assorted shape & sizes of metal containers. Rest of the shelves have glasswares, locks, nuts, & bolts, among other things. Standing between a counter & the shelves is a man in a long sleeved shirt & vest. There is a display case atop the counter & the man has his right arm resting on top this display case. To the right of the display case is a sign that reads, "Cash buys goods cheaper than credit." In front of the display case is a man in a suit, bow tie & hat with his right arm resting on the display case. Standing in the center of the floor is another man in a suit minus the jacket. There are stoves of different sizes & makes in front of the counter & on the left side of the building. On the far back wall can be seen a clock & picture. Print is mounted on a yellow matboard. Written across top of matboard, in blue ink, "Interior of Jungquist Store prior to 1900" Stamped in lower right corner in sepia, "C. H. Bryan & Co., Photographers" One copy stained on lower edge of photo. On back of photo stamped in black ink, "Neg No 6657, Print 108) There is a white sticker which is stamped in black ink, :" Interior of Jungquist Store prior to 1900 Rawlins Wyoming" Stamped in black ink on back "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department. Matboard is torn on the lower right side. Has a bad bend on the lower left side. Upper left corner missing. Matboard stained. Update February 2011: Black & white copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department". "193". Typed on adhesive tag: "Interior of Jungquist Hardware Store{. Good condition. Emulsion impacted, wrinkled, scratched, bottom torn, adhesive & paper on back, irregular borders. Size 5 x 7".
