Mr. and Mrs. John Veitch Update February 2011: Black & white studio portrait on cream colored mat. Image of a standing woman & seated man. She is wearing a dark, floor length dress with long sleeves, a bow tied at the neck, & a light colored lace collar. he is wearing a dark three piece suit, white shirt, dark bow tie & has a watch fob & chain attached to his vest. The chair has long fringe on the arms & beneath the seat. Written on the back in pencil: "Mr. & Mrs. John Veitch Came to Wyo from Pennsylvania while Wyo still a Territory. First Veitchs to settle in Wyo on a land grant on Med. Bow River 4 1/2 miles from the town of Elk Mt. daughter of above Veitchs, Elizabeth, married Joshua Widdowfield, brother of Bob Widdowfield, killed in Aug 1878 by Big Nose George Jonathan Veitch son of above John" On white adhesive tag: "Veitch" Good condition. Soiled, accretion, scratched, creased, liquid spot, scuffed. Size 2 3/8 x 3 7/8"
