Two Texas Longhorns standing, one lying down by J. W. Benson, 1949.
Update 1/2008: A black and white print of an original painting by J.W. Benson, Cowboy Artist. The print shows three Texas Longhorn steers in an arid area with many mesas in the distance. Standing Longhorn on left has white patches on dark hide and white patch down center of face with dark on either side. Standing Longhorn on rear right has solid dark hide, but totally white face. The third Longhorn, solid medium colored is lying on the ground, back to artist. Standing steer in center has XIT branded on hide center.
Printed on front bottom edge: "Texas Longhorns." Printed on right corner:" COPR 1949 90 J.W. Benson."
The print is in fair condition as it is extremely soiled with tape stains, soiling, adhesive residue, black scuff marks, scratches in emulsion, (especially on top left half of photo). Photo has a 1 1/2" tear in print 1 3/4" on bottom left corner. There is a slight vertical bend through bottom center area of postcard. Tape residue is predominant on top and bottom edges. On back of postcard is a remaining tape remnant horizontally from center edge to center edge in the middle of card.
