"Goodbye Saddle" by J. W. Benson, 1949.
Update 1/2008: A black and white print of an original painting by J.W. Benson, Cowboy Artist entitled "Goodbye Saddle." The print shows a desolate desert area with mesas and outcroppings in background. In the foreground is a cowboy sitting on the ground with his white horse galloping off to the left while his saddle is on the ground and a bucking steer with rope around its neck is on the right. The rope around steer's neck is looped around saddle horn on the ground with the other end lying on the ground to the cowboy's right. In the center of the print is a group of four longhorns walking away from the ruckus. Above the print's title in tiny letters: "A Broken hatigo".
A print bottom left side in printed J.W. Benson 1947. On front photos right bottom side is printed: COPR 1949 100 J.W. Benson.
The print is in fair condition as it is extremely soiled on front and back with tape stains, soiling adhesive residue, black scuff marks. There are scratches in emulsion, (especially left top 1/3 side). Photo has a predominant yellow stain on left quadrant of surface and a yellow spot on center right in addition to conditions listed above. Tape residue is primarily on top and bottom edges of card front. Back side has tape strip residue across entire length of card at center. An additional strip stain is on right half side.
