Dr. John Osborne.
Update - 2009: Black & white studio portrait print attached to black mat which has a very narrow outer border. Image shows a young man with dark hair in a side left part with curling hair on left & a pouffy upswept comb back on side right. He has light colored eyes & a dark mustache. He is wearing a dark suit jacket with a high collar, white shirt & a wide, dark patterned tie. A white handkerchief is tucked in his left breast pocket. There is a white shadowy effect around the outer edges of print. All edges are gilded.
Written in black ink on back surface: "Dr. John Osborne who came to Rawlins in 1881 & was an assistant to Dr. Thomas Maghee the U.P. doctor. Also first elected governor of State of Wyoming (This is erroneous information: he was the 1st Democrat elected governor, but he was the third governor). Carol Reed, source Blue book 2002 pg. 23
Written on back in blue green ink: Dr. Osborne
Good condition. Edges of mat are worn. Corners are abraded. Print surface has large scuffs on side left & side right. There are many small scratches in emulsion surface throughout print. There are a few fingerprints & dimpling on side left.
