Update 1/2010: Black and white print. Studio portrait. Mounted in a dark grey paperboard folder. 3/4 length portrait of a woman seated in a wooden armchair with shaped legs and turned spindle back. She is wearing a light colored pleated dress with 3/4 sleeves and lace bodice insert and high collar. Her right arm is resting on the arm of the chair as she sits slightly sideways; her right hand is in her lap. Her hair is pinned up. She has a bracelet on each wrist.
Written in pencil on emulsion surface: "Frances Smith later Mrs. Robert Jungquist."
Gauzy cover paper yellow in color. Printed on folder front in white: "The Bassell Studio 512 Sixteeth St. Denver, Colo."
Mounted in acidic folder. Spine torn at top 1 1/2 inches and 3/8 inch at bottom; upper right corner of front bent; damage to lower right corner. Cover paper torn at lower left of bottom edge; torn at top of spine; upper right corner and top edge bent. Emulsion badly soiled, pencil marks, writing, at top, scuffed.Collection
