Update 1/2010: Black and white print with hand colored accents. Tintype. Printed on a thin metal sheet. Studio portrait. Half length portrait of a man in a dark suit jacket, white shirt and dark bow tie. he has short hair and a mustache and his cheeks and lips have been rouged.
Written in white pencil on front emulsion surface at bottom edge: "W.J. Smith-had on of the first bakeries in Rawlins."
Etched on back: "W.J. Smith had the first bakery in Rawlins."
Written in white pencil on back: {Faint} "Mr. W. J. Smith had the first bakery in Rawlins just after the UP Railroad had the first bakery in Rawlins."
Overpaint on back is missing in spots in upper left on back-metal showing through. Identification scratched into metal on back. Yellow accretion in lower left corner on back. Metal bent and corners damaged. Large chunks of emulsion missing-lower corners and edge at left side, upper corners and edge. Emulsion scratched and cracked. Colored accretions along top and bottom edges.
