Description

Elks Home when finished about 1910, Rawlins. Update - 2009: Black & white print. Mounted on grey matboard. Image of the interior of a large room with lighted beam ceiling with three large dark circles with raised star in center, circle of lights around each down center. Four elk heads, two on each side, mounted on side walls above the windows. Chairs on a riser in a u-shape around room. Altar (?) on rug in center of room with rug runner extending to chairs at center back. Top of pedestal in left foreground. Written in blue ink on back: "Given by Lou T. Nelson - Lodge hall at Elks Home when just finished around 1910". Written on back in black ink: "L.T. Nelson." Engraved in lower right corner of mat: "The Ferris Studio Rawlins, Wyo" Mounted on acidic matboard. Mat warped; slightly soiled. Slight corner damage. Small accretion on emulsion in lower right.
