Description

Negatives in glass-plates made to go in slide projector of Dr. Osborne's 1926 World Tour. Update 2011: 154 glass plate negatives of an around the world cruise of Dr. John Osborne and family. Places visited were: Cuba, Panama, Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Shanghai, Philippines, Borneo, Java, Singapore, Burma, India, Ceylon, Suez Canal, Egypt, Israel, Breece, Italy, Monoco, France and England. Negatives are images of sights, people and boats in countries visited. Also included are photocopies of two diarys of Dr. Osborne and Dr. T. J. Swisher who also made the journey. There are also some pages of a lecture given to a Rawlins High School Class. The cruise was taken on the Laconia II Ship of the Cunard Fleet in 1926. Negatives are numbered in order (assumed) of travel and are in a long wood tray, individually wrapped. Condition is good. Fingerprints. NOTE: Other glass negatives prints were found on the internet of the "Wise" family. They were also on the cruise and paper prints included of some of their photos to further identify Dr. Osbornes negatives.
