One of sixty-eight scanned photos. Photo of seven unidentified men in suits in front of the Fountain room of the Ferris Hotel. Second from right is Ed Smyth Sr. Left to right: 1; 2; 3; 4 Irving "Dinny" Dinsmore; 5; 6. Ed. Smuth; 7. Bud Robinson. Irving Dinsmore born Lake City Color Aug. 27, 1890 and died in Rawlins Aug. 16, 1966. First came to Rawlins as manager of the Mountain States Telephone Co. in 1917. Returned to Co. in 1919. Worked in investment baking in Denver till 1921 when he came back to Rawlins. That year he formed The Dinsmore Reality Company. He wed Miss Marguerite Murray in 1924 and had one son. Ed. R. Smyth born in Rawlins April 4, 1900 and died here March 21, 1959. Although schooled in Rawlins he started working at age 12. Managed to start college at the University of Wyoming but dropped out to go to work in Rawlins Union Pacific Railroad Machine shops early 1918. A piece of flying steel spure struck him in the eye ending his job career with the Railroad and keeping him out of the army. He attended business college in Denver for a year and then returned to Rawlins and went to work for the Rawlins National Bank. A bachlor, he was employed by the bank when photo was taken. In 1924 he entered the variety store business. In 1925 he wed and the store became his sole occupation. In 1937 he expanded the business into a department store which he ran until 1949. John W. "Bud" Robinson see in photos 24, 30, 31, 45, 45 and 47 also, was born in Rawlins in 1898. He attended school here and served in the U. S. Field Artillery in France during WWI. He wed Elizabeth "Billie" Mahoney and opened a grocery and meat market in 1926. He ran it until 1950's. He died here in 1979.
