Description

Twelve-sided, fluted, urn-shaped body w/ stepped top and loose, domed cover w/ ball finial. Reeded spout w/ brass spigot. Ring handles attached to lion masks on the sides. The upper part of the urn w/ a wide band of shallow engraving of foliage. The urn supported by four reeded legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet resting on a shaped square plinth supported on four ball feet. Spirit burner rest between feet and urn. The urn engraved w/ a crest (Herbert Crest, according to donor): a griffin facing left holding a left hand in its beak. England; c. 1800
