Photograph of two sternwheelers passing in the Cascade Locks and Canal. The Dalles City heading east and Regulator heading west. The base of image reads; "Steamers regulator and Dalles City in the Locks. Regulator & Dalles City. the regulator and The Dalles City were built in 1891 to team on the Dalles-Portland run. The Dalles City below the Cascades, Regulator above. After the locks opened in 1896, both ran all the way on alternate days. The regulator was wrecked in 1898.
