Description

Postcard, image of the Columbia River highway showing Multnomah Falls. Card reads, "331. Multnomah Falls and Bridges. Weister Co. Back of image reads, "Post Card. The Dedication of Columbia River Highway June 7th., 1916. At Multnomah Falls, and the crowning of the "Queen of the Highway." What a Sublime setting for this memorable occasion! The deep rich green of stately trees, the precipice of scarred rock over which Multnomah Falls, rising thousand of feet above in Larch Mountain, pours in all its beauty and majesty, a sheer fall of 607 feet. The fairy-like beauty of the Benson Foot Bridge that spans these waters before the second fall of 70 feet and their final unison with the waters of the Columbia River, all conspire to form a picture of incomparable beauty, "On Union Pacific System."
