Friend Charlie:,
I am enclosing bank draft for $70.00, I think that either I must have mis-understood you or you have made a mistake in saying, that is what I owe you, I think that is more than $70.00, I have record of payments made to you in a book but I have not found the book yet, it is in my trunk some where. any^way if we decide that I owe you any more I will pay it as soon as I can.
Say, Charlie, I want to make a trade with you, I want to trade a gun which I have for that one which you have, that as once mine, that one which I now have is exactly the same make and pattern except that it is of smaller caliber, it is a .32 long and for a house or pocket gun it would be better than the one which you have now, and I would like to have a heavier one to carry when I am out in the woods, I will pay whatever difference you say, you send it to me and I will send mine to you, and then you can say how much difference you want and I will send it at once, let me know what you will do when you write to me, if you will do it, I would like to get it as soon as possible.
Well I must close for now, best regards,
Yours truly, Geo S. Raymond.
