A one quart embossed Dairylea milk bottle. - - - Dairylea Registered United States Patent Office MTC 8 [inside the ejection (valve) mark] - - - In 1907, a group of dairy farmers in Orange County, New York founded the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association, Inc. to increase their bargaining power with wholesale distributors. By the 1920s, the Cooperative's membership had increased to more than 100,000 farms. In 1923 they began using the trade name “Dairylea.” Thatcher Manufacturing Co., Elimra, NY used the MtC mark from 1923 until about 1949.
