Description

LuAnn Cavallero earned 'Letters' playing basketball and soccer during her High school years 9th through 12th grades. She was also the first female to receive The Outstanding Senior Athlete award when graduating in 1975. LuAnn was a very surprised recipient.

Context

Title Nine, Federal Legislation that had been passed about 1973, granted women equal footing in terms of athletic opportunities. As a result, girl’s teams and the caliber of competition greatly improved.
