Built by Theodore A. Miller at a net cost of $4440, the Corporation Building was the first Chester firehouse, dedicated August 10, 1896. Containing meeting rooms and a lockup (2 barred cells) on the lower floor and “Firemen’s Parlors” in the second story, the main floor was occupied by Walton Hose Company, organized November 6, 1893.
