The old Yelverton InnEntry/Object ID
chs-019553Description
This monochrome photo postcard features the historical "Old Yelverton Inn" located in Chester, New York. This dwelling was built in 1765 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Henry, not Richard, Wisner was selected as Orange County delegate to the Colonial Congress at Philadelphia. The image, captured in monochrome, shows the two-story colonial-style wooden building with a large front porch and several bare trees surrounding it. The image shows the back of a vintage postcard postmarked October 1907, featuring cursive handwriting and a green one-cent stamp. The message mentions a visit to the oldest house in Chester, a forgotten umbrella, and it's addressed to Miss Sadie Smith in Turner, New York.Subject Person/Organization
