Obsequies of Gen. U. S. Grant
The remains of the deceased general will arrive New York City late in the afternoon of Wednesday, August 5, and will lie in state at the City Hall until Saturday morning, August 8, on which day the funeral procession and interment at Riverside Park will take place.
In order to afford the public an opportunity to pay its last tribute of respect to the honored dead, and witness this impressive funeral pageant, The New York, Lake Erie and Western R.R.
Will sell excursion tickets to New York and return at greatly reduced rates, as follows:

These tickets will be sold August 6, 7, 8, and are good for return passage for four days from the date of sale.
Intending purchasers of the special excursion tickets should give early notice of such intention to the agents of their respective stations, so that adequate coach accommodations may be provided for all, and those who desired to view the remains while they lie in state should take trains which arrive in New York August 6th or 7th.
Special arrangements will be made for the comfort and convenience of those returning to their homes immediately after the funeral, and every necessary accommodation in the way of extra train service will be provided, so that all will be comfortably cared for.
