Citation
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society was chartered by the New York State Department of Education and founded on November 19, 1964; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Chester Historical Society is to promote the rich heritage of the Village and Town of Chester, New York; and
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society strives to preserve and restore Chester's historical places and documents; and
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society records oral histories to help preserve the history of Chester; and
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society provides educational programs for children, community organizations and all persons interested in local history and folklore; and
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society makes its own in 1915 Erie Railroad Station, where it exhibits artifacts, books, documents, manuscripts, maps, newspapers and photographs makes oral histories available to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Chester Historical Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Now, therefore, be resolved that, throughout the town of Cheshire, the County of Orange and in person New York, we congratulate and thank the
Chester Historical Society
