Chester HS Dedication Ceremonies Saturday
Chester, (OCP) - - Formal dedication of the addition to the Chester School will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. Among the well-known figures who will be present are Mrs. Amy Bull Crist, superintendent of schools; Assemblymen Daniel Becker and Joseph St. Lawrence; State Senator Clinton Dominick, and Louis Scheinman, attorney for the board of education.
Acting Mayor, William Lord will represent the Village of Chester. Mrs. Salvatore Fichera will speak briefly on behalf of the Parent Teacher Association. Representing the student body will be Daniel Burrows, president of the senior class.
Abraham Prusoff, president of the Chamber of Commerce, will introduce representatives of various Chester industries including Arrow Shirt, Bobby Lane Originals, the Cable Corp, Chester National Bank and Chester Packing.
Calvin Peterson, supervising principal of the Chester School will introduce the architects, the contractors and the board of education. The president of the board, John W. Wyckoff will formally dedicate the building.
The invocation will be delivered by the Rev. Arthur Heldman of the Chester Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Charles Klien of St. Columba's church will offer the Benediction.
The Chester school band under the direction of George Perna, will provide music.Create Date
