Description

This Brigham Brothers brick was discovered by a volunteer cleaning up the flower bed about 10 feet or so north of the 1915 Erie Station on March 18, 2026.

Context

This might have been part of a brick shipment received by railcar at the Chester depot from the Brigham Brothers brickyard in Kingston, which operated in East Kingston circa 1888-1925, which would coincide with the reconstruction of downtown Chester with fire-resistant buildings following the devastating fires of 1877, 1881, and 1889.
