Colorized photo postcard of the second Erie RR Station at Monroe, NY. Located on the main thoroughfare in the Village of Monroe, Lake Street, is was in service from 1842 until 1913. The building survives and in 2011 became a cafe.

Hi Cliff,
I have the year for this post card as Sept., 1908....but you never know.
Anyhow, this is the second station, the first station was located
across from Seamanville Cemetery, but lasted less then a year when local
businessmen wanted the station up closer to present village. So they
leased a building to the railroad rent free to get them to move closer.
The other station was used for freight. So this building was the
station from 1842 until they built a new station in 1913. The new
station was destroyed by a arsonist in 1977. The old station still
stands at the end of Lake St. and has recently opened as a cafe. Jim
