Both front and back of a color tinted postcard of High Bridge (Route 94) over the Erie Railroad tracks, Chester, N.Y.

Subject

Oral history states that this metal bridge was originally intended for the trolly line to connect Monroe with Middletown. But the line was not completed east of Goshen, therefore the this bridge was repurposed as a automobile bridge and installed on the Chester-Washingtonville road over the Erie RR cut.It replaced a wooden bridge.
