Thanks so much for the scans. I’ve attached one for you!
Since the magazine gives Shawbay’s time as 2:05 ¼ and your postcard says 2:07 ¼, the postcard picture has to predate January 1917. I would guess Shawbay set his 2:05 time during the 1916 racing season, so he could have been at 2:07 earlier in 1916 or, perhaps less likely, in 1915.
So, my guess is that the postcard dates from 1916.
