Scope and Content
"Scan of a payments ledger for the Sterling Iron Works, 1773-1776. Sterling Iron and Railway Company record group at the New York State Library: Account and Receipt Books and Groups of Accounts, 1765-1835 <https://www.nysl.nysed.gov/msscfa/sc14069#Account> (Items 603-605: Box 6; Items 606-612: Boxes 7-11. Author appears to be Peter Townsend, one of the owners."
This is the ledger cited by Theodore W. Kury containing lists of workers in his 2004 "Revisiting the Vanished Ironworks of the Sterling Estate," published in the OCHS Journal. It looks like it is the ledger kept at the iron works, as it notes "from Chester store" in entries.
The full ledger is available online at Albert Wisner Public Library.
