Six years later he came to Bakersfield, and in 1908 was employed by Standard Oil to supervise cook houses at Taft. He later engaged in the hotel business and was active in civic affairs of the large Chinese community which grew up on the West Side in the early (19)20s. He farmed at Dinuba and in the Cuyama Valley before returning in the late (19)20s to become a citrus grower in the Edison area. He developed the famous brand of Chas N.
